About me

My name is Greg Macke. I along with my wife Sabine and two children Dustin and Myla live in the beautiful Ojai Valley North of Los Angeles, California. Before I met my wife Sabine I had already been a part of the automotive business. Sabine and I had a long career of 18 solid years as business owners in the Corporate Housing industry. Through those years we had hundreds of employees who were in need of purchasing new or used cars. Due to my car expertise, I was always willing to help them in the car buying endeavour. I also became their "in-house" mechanic when things were not right with their car.

Family members and friends would also always come to me when they were interested in cars or if they had a particular problem. It was like I was a doctor and people who knew me would say things like "my car makes this squeaking noise when I start it up" and they wanted to tap my car brain for the answer to their mystery. I always loved to diagnose the "symptoms".

In 2007 Sabine and I decided to gift our company over to the employees. Yep, we gave it away! They were a happy bunch, no doubt, but sad to see me gone. I mean who's boss would take the time to go to a car dealer and help their employees find, inspect and negotiate a car for them, but I enjoyed it so much, spending time with the employee and being able to help them in such a big way. It became a labor of love.

After I gave the business away our family went on a 5 month, 8000 mile journey across the United Sates and Canada. Along the way I actually researched, located and negotiated cars for people in my home town even though I was several states away. 

I realized at this point that I was very good at what I was doing. So good that people were coming to me to help them with their next car purchase. I was saving them thousands of dollars and giving them first rate advice and direction. They called me "the car angel". My next business was born.
